Cortisone injections when used for joint injections have little absorption outside the joint. This would little or no effect with a SculpSure treatment. Nor would SculpSure affect the effectiveness of the cortisone shot. If you are referring to giving cortisone at the treatment site or an Iv injection I would not recommend getting SculpSure done in that case. You may see a poorer response.
Steroid injections are commonly used to decrease inflammation, usually in joints. Steroid injections theoretically can suppress the inflammatory response to SculpSure, which (theoretically) could blunt its efficacy; this has not been well studied. Steroid injections can be associated with a tendency to elevate blood sugar for at least a week after treatment. Consequently, I would advise waiting at least 2 weeks between a steroid injection and a SculpSure treatment.
Thank you for your question. I would not recommend a cortisone shot during your SculpSure treatment. Please consult your provider and always seek treatment from a board-certified dermatologist.
It would be best to put it off until at least a month after a treatment, but it somewhat depends on where the injection is. If the injection is in a joint, the steroid is less likely to affect the entire body than if the injection is in soft tissue.
Steroids are an anti-inflammatory product. That said while one might want to avoid an injection into the area recently treated, getting a joint or spinal block would not have a negative effect on your Sculpsure treatment.
Good day and congratulations on being the perfect candidate for Sculpsure. 2-4 frames on each side will do it. You need 2 sessions to see results in 3 months. 25 min for 25 % of the fat cells killed in the targeted area. No down time and about an inch from the waist are lost. GOOD LUCK...
Contrary to how SculpSure is advertised, painful lumps are common after treatment. Unfortunately the lumps can persist for over 1 year and do not correlate with a successful treatment outcome. I hope you have a good result. The majority of patients are less than completely satisfied.
It is common that patients report the development of bumps and nodules on the skin. These can be massaged and will go away on their own. I would recommend increasing your water intake as well. I hope this helps. Best wishes!
