Is Constant Redness and Soreness on the Tip of the Nose Normal 2 Weeks Post Op Rhinoplasty/septoplasty? (photo)

2 weeks ago I had a rhinopplasty/septoplasty. All went well, expected the swelling, I had the cast and tape removed and my nose was not red until 8 days later during and after my 4 hour flight on the plane. Since then my nose has swelled up way more and I look like rudolf the red nose raindeer. I was wandering if this is normal?

Septoplasty is covered by insurance if your airway is obstructed. Removal of the hump is separate but of low cost.

In general, you will want to avoid sun exposure for 6 months following rhinoplasty. I would recommend speaking with your surgeon, as they may have specific guidelines they would like you to follow. I hope this helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

You will still have a good amount of swelling after 4 weeks. In general, 70% of the swelling is resolved after the first three months and the remainder goes down over time. The final result may not be evident for 18-24 months after surgery. The tip is usually the last to come around. I would...
