When should I expect my nipples to unflatten after breast reduction?

I recently got a breast reduction and my nipples are flat and unattractive. They look a tiny bit inverted. I was wondering what is the time frame of when I should expect them to poke out again.

Viewing photos of your breasts before and after the BR, and knowing the date of your surgery would both be helpful in providing comments. The swelling this early following a large breast reduction can blunt nipple areolar architecture.  This may very well resolve with time. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

If you recently had surgery, then I would be patient to see how things respond. I would give it at least 4-6 months. Good luck.
