Does AGA always involve shedding of numerous telogen vellus hairs?

Over the past 3 weeks, 3.3 % of the 3,720 hairs that I shed were under 3 cm. Is this considered a small amount and consistent with CTE or could this be indicative of underlying AGA? Thank you.

There is nothing in the information given that suggests AGA. However, hair collections are best done in a standardized manner such as a five day wash test. One can’t conclude nor exclude CTE. Other possibilities include acute telogen effluvium.
