When choosing to undergo a plastic surgical procedure, it is always a good idea to allow as much time as possible before a major event like a wedding to allow for things to settle, and in case there are any issues after surgery, they can hopefully be resolved prior to the event. With regard to breast augmentation, a result close to the final outcome can usually be anticipated within about 6 weeks. Specific concerns related to breast augmentation include a high-riding implant that takes some time to completely settle into position, but that is dependent on the size of the skin envelope and the degree of augmentation being performed. I would recommend discussing your concerns with your surgeon, and he/she will be able to give you a clear idea of what will be the safest course of action to reach the size and shape you desire, and whether or not that can be accomplished before your big day.
If done correctly, your breast should appear very strange after surgery. Over time though, they will settle and appear more normal. You just need to wait 6 weeks to 6 months to see the final result. The flip side is, if they look perfect right after surgery, you may have a problem.
Those high-riding implants that you see right after surgery will settle over the coming week and look quite natural, assuming the size you chose fits your frame appropriately. Go ahead and have the surgery before your wedding--but do it at least 6 weeks prior. Good luck and congratulations!
Don't do it too close to your wedding, since the 90% recovery after breast augmentation is at 6 weeks. But if you backtrack 6 weeks from the end of May, and have your breast augmentation done by the second week in April you should be FINE. Hi. Take at least 6 weeks before you get married to have the augmentation and you will totally enjoy the results assuming that you are going to an experienced breast plastic surgeon. Having said that, make sure you are ready to face a complication such as an infection (very rare in augments) and get through it. If you are conservative and do not want to take Any chances, then wait. If you are my patient, then we would have a long discussion about all of this. You would know what we would do to make sure that we would time it right. The sooner the better after your consultation if you are going to go that route. The confidence you will get in your wedding gown will be a lifelong memory and you might will have more confidence after the wedding too. Ask your fiance too about it all.
The term usually defines high riding implants. This occurs probably in about half of women with under the muscle implants. Although the implant position typically looked ok during surgery while the muscles are relaxed, after the anesthetic wears off the pectoral muscles contract and displaced the implant fluid upward--the bottom of the implant pocket is like the bottom of an envelope. The top of the pocket is an empty space between the muscle and the ribs. The contracting muscle pushes on the implant and an upper pole bulge that can last for months occurs. This problem occurs more commonly in tight skinned breasts and with large implants. Your timing may make it difficult to do fittings for your dress, and could result in what you don't want to see in your wedding photos!. Your call, though. All the best.
if all goes smoothly, which is the case 95% of the time, you should be fine in a few weeks. just to be safe, it would be prudent to give yourself six weeks before the wedding. obviously, you could wait till after the wedding too, but clearly there are pros and cons of that approach as well. good luck and congrats in advance!
