Is it common for a tooth for feel a tiny bit wobbly after getting a bond?

I chipped my two front teeth. I had them bonded yesterday. The right tooth was chipped close to the gum line in the back. The dentist did a great job cosmetically and the left tooth feels sturdy, but the right to seems to have a very slight wobble. Is this common at first and will it get better, or do I need to return to my dentist with my concerns?

Based on your description, it's more likely that the same traumatic force that chipped your two front teeth, is the same traumatic force that has made one of them loose or wobbly.  If your tooth is a little loose, it is possible that it was slightly dislodged.  If this is the case, it is best to treat this tooth very gently for several weeks, until it has had a chance to reattach and become more sturdy.  It is not wise to continue to check the tooth's sturdiness using your finger or tongue.  Also, don't bite any hard or course foods that will cause stress on this loose tooth. Given that your tooth wasn't recently loosened from the trauma that broke part of the tooth off, your tooth is probably a bit loose if you are hitting too hard on it when you close your teeth together (called traumatic occlusion) or you have some loss of bone support due to periodontal disease or infection due to the trauma and in need of a root canal.I would certainly recommend you return to your dentist so that he/she can evaluate it and not wait.However, please note that based on normal biting behavior and smaller roots, many teeth can be wiggled slightly without there being a significant problem.  For instance, most people can slightly wiggle their lower front teeth.  Patients who clench or grind their teeth, can often wiggle their upper teeth slightly.

When a tooth gets wobbly (loose or mobile) after a new filling, crown or bonding is done, the tooth likely has a high spot that needs to be adjusted to get back to the natural balance that is meant to be. A tooth may not survive if the high spot continues to strike repeatedly. Pain, periodontal problems, even nerve abscess may occur over time.The dentist can remedy this in moments very easily. Make an appointment ASAP. It should only take one minute to get the bite right.
