I've been concerned about balding ever since about March 2022. I've been taking almost near daily pictures of my hair and monitoring my hair closely. Hair density, crown, Hairline, shedding, everything. I haven't been able to notice any difference in my hair over these 8 month span, so I'm not sure if I'm balding. How long would it take to see a difference in my hair if I was balding? My hairline doesn't appear to have moved even a milimeter since I started worrying

That’s a great question. For some it’s 6 months and for some it’s 2 years. I don’t think daily photos is helpful as it invokes significant anxiety for many. However, taking photos every 2-3 months is a good plan. Be sure to see a hair loss specialist if worried. It’s possible that another hair loss condition was also present when you first noticed hair loss (like seborrheic dermatitis or telogen effluvium) and that complicated things a bit and caused initial hair loss. But the answer to your question is early changes can take a while to see. Hair loss of the male balding type can go in waves.
