Why won't my Juvederm chin fillers dissolve? (Photo)

Hello, Back in november I had facial fillers done by a new doctor. My cheek and jaw fillers have settled down, while my chin fillers haven't. I have been administrated several anti-inflammatory injections and taken Dexason pills, all without effect. After a month of the swelling not going down, the doctor started dissolving my chin. It has been at least 3 rounds of hyaluronidase and I still have a bump in my chin when I speak. Also the fillers look purple. I am 30. thank you for your help.

1. Infection: In rare cases, dermal fillers can become infected, leading to persistent swelling and discoloration.
2. Allergic reaction: Some people may have an allergic reaction to the filler material, causing swelling and discoloration.
3. Vascular occlusion: This is a rare but serious complication where the filler material accidentally gets injected into a blood vessel, leading to tissue damage and discoloration.
4. Prolonged inflammation: Sometimes, the body's inflammatory response to the filler can persist longer than usual, leading to ongoing swelling.
The purple discoloration you're seeing could be due to several factors, including bruising, vascular issues, or the Tyndall effect, where light is scattered by the filler material, creating a bluish or purplish appearance.
It's very important that you consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon to evaluate your symptoms. I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are having with your filler treatment.  It may take multiple doses of hyaluronidase in order to dissolve fillers.  Continue to follow up with your physician about the inflammation.  It may be that further rounds of steroids are needed in your case.
