I’m considering lipo, breast augmentation, and a BBL while taking Briumvi, a B-cell–depleting DMT. My bloodwork is normal overall, but my B cells are depleted due to Briumvi. For board-certified plastic surgeons/doctors: Would depleted B cells alone make elective surgery too risky? Would you be concerned about increased infection or wound-healing risks? Anyone on a dmt such as Briumvi and got lipo or bbl or Brest augmentation? Please tell me your experience

Depleted B cells do carry a real increase in infection risk, and combining liposuction, breast augmentation and a BBL is a long procedure involving implants and grafted fat, which raises the stakes further. In practice most surgeons will want written clearance from your neurologist, immunoglobulin levels checked, and the operation timed within the treatment cycle when your counts are most favourable, sometimes staging the procedures rather than combining them. Wound healing is usually acceptable, infection is the main concern, so implant surgery in particular deserves careful thought. This decision belongs to your neurologist and your surgeon together, based on your actual laboratory values.
