My chin looks very soft and round (photo #1-4) and I would prefer a pointier look like photo #5, is this possible? All of the before and after photos for a chin implant I’ve seen looks too round and wide for my preference. Also from the photos, my left side (photo #3) has always been my better side- my right side (photo #4) seems to have a shorter jawline. What is the best way to help this for a more symmetrical face?
Answer: Chin implants Chin implants come in many shapes and sizes and can be customized using a CT of the face. I think that the look that you desire can be best achieved with a sliding genioplasty. This surgery moves the tip of your own chin forward and provides the most natural results.

Answer: Chin Goals Your goal for a pointed chin is achievable, but it would require a customized chin implant. Most implants are designed to achieve overall fullness and projection to recessed chins. Your "pointed chin" look can actually be achieved with Filler injections. I suggest using a more structural filler such as Restylane Lyft. If you consider filler injections, I strongly suggest seeking an experienced injector, preferably from a Facial Plastics office.

Answer: V-Shaped Chin Implant What you are seeking is a central based chin with no wings that has a V-shape to it. This would require either modifying an existing style of chin implant or having a custom one made.

Answer: Chin Implanys, Chin Augmentation, Fillers ReportThank you for your question. You will get the best answer to your question by scheduling an in person consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who will discuss with you your unique situation and concerns. The surgeon would meet with you and examine you, take a full medical history, and discuss the pros and cons of each operative procedure in person and what to realistically expect. Then you can make an informed decision on which procedure(s) to start with according to your desires, recovery time necessary, your history and current health. Your desire for a pointed chin is achievable, and you could start with an injectable filler that isn't permanent to fill in and define the areas you wish to change and see if you like the look before you decide to have a surgical procedure with a more permanent result. The pointed chin implant is possible but would require a customized chin implant. Most implants are designed to achieve overall fullness and projection to recessed chins.

Answer: Chin implant that can create a pointier chin?? Chin implants are not designed to create a more pointed chin. The chin, the mandible, and the implants are all three-dimensional structures, and the augmentation occurs in all three dimensions. The augmentation occurs mostly in the forward direction, some lateral width, and a small amount of vertical height. Trying to create a pointy chin will look very odd. Best to have realistic expectations. For many examples of chin implants, please see the link and the video below
