I had LASIK 7 weeks ago for bad astigmatism. My vision is worse now. Dr says I have to wait a year to correct?

The vision often will change as a person continues to heal from LASIK.  If the near vision is mainly what is giving you issues, you could consider an over-the-counter pair of glasses, unless you have residual astigmatism as the main issue.  You could also request a prescription again knowing that you may have to change the lenses again as you continue to heal. 

It does take awhile for the vision to stabilize after Lasik. In some cases, I have seen the vision change for up to a year after a very high treatment. But that does not help you now, and you clearly need help now. You should get a prescription for glasses, even though it may not be your final prescription, so that you can work and not experience eye strain. If it needs to be changed later, so be it. And if your prescription stabilizes in a few months, then I would offer you the retreatment at that time and not make you wait so long.
