Localized fatty deposition can be improved with liposuction, and the liposuction cannula will remain within the subcutaneous tissue not the epidural space. Liposuction results are highly surgeon dependent. Find a plastic surgeon with ELITE credentials who performs hundreds of liposuction procedures each year. Then look at the plastic surgeon's website before and after photo galleries to get a sense of who can deliver the results. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
Liposuction of the back would not cross the midline and come into contact with an area traversed by epidural anesthesia or treatment.
Unless you had previous back surgery, liposuction of the back and an epidural should not interfere. the epidural is performed with a very thin needle, and the amount of later scar tissue should be insignificant.
Having had a previous epidural should have no impact on your ability to have liposuction of your back. Good luck.
Having an epidural anesthetic or injection is not a problem when it comes to liposuction. You can see a Board Certified plastic surgeon to discuss more.

All the best, Dr. Remus Repta
It should no be a problem to have liposuction of the back if a patient had a previous spinal tap.The spinal tap in and of itself is not a contraindication for liposuction.

I have extensive experience with exactly what you are asking, I even had it done myself. It is an uncommon procedure and expectations should be realistic, but they beat traditional methods when subtlety is a prerequisite. Go to my web site and the web sites of surgeons like Sydney Coleman and...
You should feel good that your surgeon is very honest and thorough. However, permanent damage to the lymphatic system, which is massive to start with, is not a reasonable concern with liposuction. We just don't see it. Open procedures such as tummy tuck may increase the...
