I have what I consider a rectangular face shape. I have a larger forehead and I also have a square jawline. my chin points out a little. with my angled out chin and my square jaw line it leaves a lot of "cheek" area. it makes my face look big. I also have a small mouth, that doesn't help. I would like my face to take on more of a V shape. what are your suggestions? in advance, thank you for reading and responding. best solution would be to obtain a 3DCT scan of your jaw. It would provide an
exact picture of your anatomy. This info could guide the surgeon if certain
areas should be reduced to improve symmetry or guide the design of custom
implants which would build up areas of deficiency.
There are two
options: orthognathic surgery or chin and mandible implants. Since orthognathic
surgery would probably require more orthodontia, implants would be more time
and cost effective as well as providing a superior cosmetic result.
Your entire
lower jaw is deficient. Jaw surgery (sagittal split osteotomy) and a sliding
genioplasty would change the contour but, since nothing would be added to the
