I noticed that my nose is a bit slanted and i wanted to know if I have a deviated septum and if I should see a doctor and I also have bronchitis and had breathing problems as a young child and if it's caused because of my nose?

Answer: How bad it is my deviated septum based on the pictures? The pictures only show a twisted nose, which is corrected with a Cosmetic rhinoplasty. An internal examination of the nose is required to determine whether your septum is deviated enough to warrant medical necessity and get it fixed. A septoplasty will not change the shape of the nose, and is only performed for functional purposes to improve airflow dynamics. Both a septoplasty and rhinoplasty can be performed together when necessary, but expect to pay for the rhinoplasty component yourself.

Answer: Deviated Septum Hi, thank you for your question. I am glad that you used the term "a bit"...as you have a good perspective that it is not severe....we can show you some severe ones! That being said, when we address the septum it is when the septum is deviated and causing nasal obstruction OR it is very torqued/deviated and twists the external nose. It appears that the caudal septum is "off" to the right. This can happen from birth or also from trauma. The tip loses some support and strength. The septum CAN be brought back to the midline. However, this needs to be documented on physical examination and you need to weigh the risks of surgery.....its not like fixing appliances....the outcome could be better, worse or the same!
