Hello, I had my lips injected with Juvaderm and unfortunately the doctor hit a blood vessel and my lip looked terrible for almost three weeks.....is it likely to happen again or could it have been a one off? (I’m wondering if I should quit whilst I’m ahead, but only had a little amount put in, so even though the bruising has healed, I can’t actually tell I had it done).

Answer: Bruising is a risk with any injectable product.
There is no problem injecting filler on patients taking plaquenil. I think it is wise to use a hyaluronic based filler, like Juvederm, as it can be reversed if something unforeseen occurs. I would also make sure you see a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
Thank you for your question! There is no known connection with synethetic or genetic HA involvement in the acceleration of the cancer cell. Best of luck!
