Front Caps. Is it safe to bite into these fruits?

Hello, I just got crowns on my 2 front teeth. The teeth were dis colored. I'm a 67 year old man & enjoy eating fruit such as apples, mangos, & peaches. Is it safe to bite into any of these fruits? Thank you!

I usually tell my patients that it is safer to cut their fruit. It's better to be safe than to break a crown biting into a peach and hitting the pit. You should have no problem eating pizza, sandwiches, and corn on the cob. Don't use these teeth as a tool. No tearing tags off clothes. No opening packages. No stripping wire, yes a patient did break a crown doing that. No pulling corks out of wine bottles. Those new crowns are for biting and smiling only. Enjoy your new smile.

It should be safe, but it is always a risk. I suggest to my patients that they bite off slightly to one side on natural teeth or cut the harder fruit, such as apples, into slices before eating. Softer fruits should be fine.
