The answer to this question depends on the current state of your lower teeth.  If you have a significant amount of wear or they are breaking, then I would consider having them crowned.  If not, I would leave them alone for now.  Good luck.

From the sounds of things, you need to consult a plastic surgeon on this site.  He or she can help with possibly using Botox to make the more active side less active.  I don't that you would require surgery for this.  Sarah Thompson, DMD
