Yes, Veneers can often correct the appearance of crowded teeth. It is always best to consult with an orthodontist first. Each case must be evaluated carefully by an experienced and skilled cosmetic dentist . Ask to see before/after photos of similar cases to yours.Steven M. Goldy ,DDS
Porcelain veneers are the golden standard procedure for a cosmetic dentist. We use veneers to correct many issues our patients have with their front teeth, including crowding. When your mouth doesn't have enough space for all of your teeth, many times the front ones will turn and overlap each other creating crowding. The best and most conservative way to fix this is to see an orthodontist for a consultation and see if Invisalign or braces can help.If wearing braces is not an option, or you've already gone thru orthodontics and your teeth have moved back, veneers may be the best choice.Porcelain veneers are a thin shell of porcelain that is permanently bonded to the front of your teeth. Minor teeth crowding is one of the major reasons our patients look to get veneers and in just 2 visits, you can have straight teeth! In addition to the immediate gratification, veneers can be used to permanently whiten you smile. Also, with veneers, your not moving the teeth, only making them look straight. This is important as you don't have to worry about your teeth moving back and having to wear a retainer for the rest of your life.Again, best option is to consult with an experienced cosmetic dentist who has successfully treated cases similar to yours. I would have a diagnostic wax-up made so you can see how much tooth structure needs to be removed in order to have straight teeth with veneers. The goal is to remove the least amount of tooth structure as possible for the best cosmetic outcome.
HI, thanks for sending your question. The short answer to your question is that yes, veneers can be done. However a comprehensive examination needs to take place in order to access the degree of the crowding and the condition of your teeth. Once done, a proper smile design should be performed in order for you to visualize your future look with the veneers. Please visit an experienced provider in your area who can best direct you on the direction of your smile. All the best,
veneers is an ideal option to improve aesthetic of teeth and not to correct crowding. for crowding best option is braces/aligners. in case of mild option u can go for veneers to avoid braces treatment.
My recommendation would be to get an orthodontic consultation firstIf your teeth are not too crowded and very minimally invasive or no preparation veneers can be done this would be okIf your teeth are severely crowded a significant amount of tooth structure would need to be removed. The immediate gratification would not be worth the long term complications
Yes, veneers may be done with crowded teeth , but it is always advisable to get an orthodontic consultation before proceeding with any veneer treatment. Many times the healthy, beautiful, natural teeth can be moved into better position which corrects the crowding and lets the natural smile show and function properly. This also costs less and does not require anything artificial to be bonded to the teeth which 1.saves money and 2. does not require replacing veneers later when the restoration needs servicing.I do love using veneers for my patients, and there are the right cases to use them on to dramatically transform a smile within 2-3 weeks; however, I always inform the patient of all options and always recommend the most conservative and natural solution. You should seek a dentist with the same philosophy as me before you allow anyone to drill on your teeth.Below is a link to a moderately crowded case and a severe crowded case which were treated with veneers.
