I have had caps on my front two teeth since I have been 16 and I am now 19. I also don't know which dentist to trust, are there any guidelines to follow? How much should the procedure roughly cost as well?

Answer: Whiter Crowns The only way for you to lighten the front crowns is by replacing them with new crowns that are lighter in color/shade. If you are considering replacing the crowns make sure that the other teeth are of a shade you wish to keep long term, otherwise, whiten all your teeth prior to replacing the crowns in front so you can get the best match possible. The cost is going to depend on a couple things1. Location of the country2. Insurance If your insurance (if your have coverage) originally paid for these crowns 3 years ago they will most likely not cover the expense of the new crowns, there is typically a 5-10 year window. You could always send a pre-authorization estimate into the insurance to determine if they will cover the procedure or not. As far as cost goes, if insurance does not cover the porcedure, you can expect a price range of $900-1,200 depending on where you live. If you are looking for a good, competent dentist you could always call a local dental organization or some specialists in the area (oral surgeons, orthodontists, endodontists) to find out who they would recommend.
