Darker and lighter lips after IPL laser hair removal. Will it go away?

I had IPL on my chin and upper lip. Just one session on my upper lip and 3 on my chin. I felt no burn but now my lips have long brown spots at the top (it looks like I painted half my top lip with a brown lip pencil) and they also seem to have a slight discoloration at the bottom (ie they seem to be very pale pink -almost skin color) with some small darker spots too. This was immediate and I have never felt any pain or burn. Will it go away?

This is a great question. There are two components to a great IPL machine: 1) is it a well-made machine and 2) how old are the flash lamps. But the most important part of a good IPL treatment is an expert operator. 1) I demoed so many machines I can hardly remember all their names...

Laser and IPL for hair removal remove hair where they are directed. Scalp hair loss is not a concern with proper technique.
