If I stop taking Taking spironolactone after 6 months while using benzoyl peroxide will acne come back ?

Thanks for your question.  There is really no way to guarantee your outcome after stopping spironolactone.  Many people do just great with topicals only, and some need to take the spironolactone for a very long period of time.  If you are not planning on pregnancy any time soon and are tolerating the spironolactone well, you should talk to your dermatologist about maybe just staying on it long term.  It might be helpful to add a topical retinoid, such as tretinoin or adapalene, so also ask your dermatologist about the best topical regimen they would recommend to keep things as clear as possible.  Best of luck!

Since there is not cure for acne, it is possible that your acne can recur once you stop taking medications.
