I made the mistake of not wearing my retainer regularly and unfortunately, the gap between my two front teeth has returned. My teeth are perfect apart from that unfortunate gap and I was wondering if it would shift back into place if I wore my retainer day and night. I've heard stories of people going years without wearing their retainer and then wearing it for several months and its correcting things, but I want to know if this is true. Thanks!

All orthodontic cases do not require tooth extractions, but if in your case extraction is needed, you can extract canine instead of premolar, which will save a healthy premolar. Anatomy is different, but you can save one healthy tooth [premolar] instead of RCT treated compromised [canine] tooth.
