Eye bags/bulge under eye after PRP injections due to poor injector technique. How can this be resolved? Pls. help.

Question

I got PRP injections under my eye two days back. After a few hours of being injected, I had bulge/eye bags under my eyes. The swelling did subside the next day but it’s been two days and one can clearly see bulges under my eyes at the injected area. The injector was young and inexperienced. The person who had previously been injecting me was out on leave, thus I was assigned this new person who was a physical assistant and not a licensed nurse. How can I get rid of these eye bags? Pls. advise

Usually the immediate effects of PRP wears off in a few days. I would not be too concerned yet. In another week or so you should see full resolution of your swelling, if for some reason it still swollen by then see your provider . Gentle massages to the area might help if there is some swelling related to the injection cold compresses might still help.

This is typical. Swelling should resolve in 2-3 days. I recommend following your Doctor's after care protocols in order to get the best results. I find this procedure is great for rejuvenation but needs to be combined with lasers, fillers, or skin tightening to get the ultimate outcomes. Thank you for your question. What you are experiencing is quite common and not indicative of your end result. It is very difficult to inject too much PRP. It is not a filler. Rather it is a bio-stimulator that will help firm the skin around the eyes. The higher the platelet concentration in the PRP the more swelling you will experience.
