I'm a active 24 year old male with a small black thin line tattoo. The artist works very lightly and the tattoo is not very deeply pressed into the skin. I'm wondering how easily this tattoo could be remove? Thanks for your help!
Answer: In my practice I like to use Picosure Laser for tattoo removal. Thank you for your question! In my practice I like to use Picosure Laser for tattoo removal. Picosure has a short pulse duration that exceeds photothermal action and results in an intense photomechanical impact. This adds up to faster results and fewer treatments when compared to other tattoo removal methods. It works best on darker inks such as black and blue. The number of sessions required to remove a tattoo can range from 6-10 sessions. The amount of sessions depends on the size, color and placement of the tattoo. The further the tattoo is from the heart the more time it will take to remove. I recommend having a consultation with an expert to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!

Answer: Number of treatment session The number of treatment sessions for complete laser tattoo removal depends on a number of factors: ink color(s), ink density, ink depth, skin tone, and technology used. Black ink is easiest to remove and state-of-the-art Cutera Enlighten with both pico- and nano-second pulses and multiple wavelengths would likely achieve good results in 3-6 treatment sessions.

Answer: Black lines tattoo, how many treatments needed. The amount of treatments is dependent on many thinks. Amount of ink, skin tone, how far away from the heart, amount of colors, is it a cover up, scarring. In you case it is favorable that it is mostly black. However, your skin tone is slighly on the dark side and it is on the arm. Also, liner tattoos can have a bit more ink than shading. It also depends on the laser used. I like to use a Piqo4 laser which has nano and picosecond pulse durations and has a 1064 laser. If I were to use this laser, I would imagine it would be 6-8 treatments.
