Is it normal to be lopsided after surgery and have no follow up?

Remember that no 2 breasts ever look the same and no 2 breasts ever heal at the same rate. I typically advise my patients to wait a good 4-6 months to see their final shape because implants tend to drop and settle during this time. If you want a follow up appointment, call your operating surgeon and ask to see him or her. Every surgeon has a different post op protocol and I like to see my patients the day after surgery, at 6 weeks, and then at 6 months. Best to be examined in person by your operating surgeon so you can address your concerns directly. Good luck!

Not normal to be lopsided, but not necessarily something that won't resolve itself or with a small correction.  Without seeing photos, certainly would not want to speculate, so would recommend you contact your surgeon preferably to be seen in the office.  A second choice might be a photo of your current appearance to the office. If you were my patient, I would certainly want to know ASAP.

After surgery, of any kind, you should have evaluation by your surgeon.  Call your physician again and get an appointment for a followup visit. 

I see my patients often in the first two weeks, then frequently during the first few months.  Frequent follow-up is a critical component to good patient care and achieving optimal outcomes.  Insist on seeing your surgeon personally.  All the Best.

Breast implant surgery is major surgery and you should have some post op evaluation to make sure that you are healing properly. I often see my patients twice during the first week and then every one to two weeks till the initial healing has completed. They will then return every few months for further evaluations. This allows me to address any issues with infection, bleeding, implant malposition if it occurs. If you feel that there is a significant difference between your two breasts your implants may not have settled or they may be malpositioned. Either way your surgeon should evaluate you in person and suggest appropriate treatment.

It is important to have an in-person medical assessment regarding this issue as it is difficult to determine virtually. Continue to update your doctor in the matter and follow their post-op protocol.
It is important to get cleared by your doctor before engaging in specific physical activity before the 3 month healing period has ended as the healing stage is crucial for healthy results.
It generally takes around 6 months to a year to see your final results. Your tissues will take time to relax and allow your implants to "Drop and Fluff" settling into place. Should a revision cross your mind, it is best to wait at least 6 months to a year before doing so.
Our tips for recovery following breast augmentation are to wear a supportive sports bra for 3 months post-operative and refrain from lifting anything heavier than 10 lbs for 3 weeks as we don't want any strain at your incision sites. Make sure to keep the area of your stitches clean by cleansing with hydrogen peroxide daily. Showering is encouraged! But, no sitting in water for 2 weeks following surgery (no baths, hot tubs, pools etc.).

In a word no.It is not normal to be lopsided nor is it normal not to have any follow up.You need to contact your surgeon.

It is not normal to undergo a breast augmentation or any other surgery, for that matter, and not have follow up appointments. I would call to schedule a follow up appointment rather than trying to have your concerns addressed through email. Thank you for sharing your question. Best wishes.
