I fear the rash more than the wound! It's purple, raised, itchy, & seems to get worse daily... I'm also concerned by the fact that the wound hasn't closed at all. It's actually slightly larger now. Initially, the bandaids seemed to cause itchy bumps, so I switched to Tegaderm which felt amazing!, but fluid kept accumulating. Today I stopped using the Polysporin from the doc & bought some Vasoline. Still worried. Upside? It's benign :)

Answer: See a Doctor for a Formal Evaluation--reaction after shave biopsy
It's hard to tell what type of mole it is without seeing it in person. I would recommend going to see a doctor and having it removed if it concerns you. A biopsy will be done to make sure that it is not cancerous.
If the mole of the side of your lip is raised, it is possible that it could be shaved off to remove it. If the mole is flat, then it would need to be excised. In either case, the resulting scar would normally be less noticeable than the mole.
