I Appear to Have a 'Button' Near the Tip of my Nose That Affects the Airflow Between my Nostrils. I'm Guessing That's Not Normal

Question

Suffering a number of issues with my nose, including chronic congestion, heavy sneezing and waking up in most mornings with severe headaches. Last doctor I saw was convinced the headaches were neurological, the nasal symptoms irrelevant. But my nose has never "felt" right, it's particularly large and Roman and properly looking at it I feel a button below the bridge that clicks and affects which nostril I breathe through. Typically, I only breathe through one. Any advice? Does it need attention?

it sounds like you would benefit from seeing a good rhinoplasty surgeon. There can certainly be issues with your septum or other support structures that can cause airway problems. You can also discuss your cosmetic concerns. Good luck.

There are many different causes for nasal obstruction and facial headaches which include a deviated nasal septum, turbinate hypertrophy, chronic sinusitis, allergic nasal polyps, valve collapse and vestibular stenosis. Each one of these issues are treated differently. It is probably best to seek out an ENT/ facial plastic surgeon to address these functional issues as well as in a cosmetic issues simultaneously.
