Is it normal to notice blood accumulating on steri strips covering inframammary incisions 4 days after implant surgery? (Photo)

Hello and thank you for your question and photographs.  Based on your photos, you are healing well.  It is normal to have some blood accumulation and scabs on your inframammary incisions.  Continue with your post-operative restrictions as non-compliance can certainly evoke post-operative complications.  I hope this helps and best of luck to you!

Hello,A little bit of scant blood after surgery is not unusual but you should not be seeing new, fresh blood. These pictures don't look problematic at all but if you are concerned don't hesitate to contact your Plastic Surgeon and let them advise you.All the best

Hello, it is not uncommon for a tiny amount of blood to ooze under the steristrips for several days postop.  If you are concerned or notice ongoing drainage or other symptoms you could get in touch with your PS to ensure everything is healing normally. 

Congratulations on your recent surgery! From the photos, it does not appear as though you have an unusual or concerning amount of bleeding. I would recommend continuing to monitor the amount of drainage and call your surgeon if the steri strips become saturated or you are noticing blood on your bra. Based on the photos you provided, your incisions look fine. Your early result looks excellent. I would caution you on doing too much too soon so that you done get a hematoma around your implants. It's not uncommon to have a small amount of blood on the steri-strips. If this continues to get worse then you contact your surgeon immediately but I suspect that you are well on your way to a beautiful result. Good luck!

A small amount of blood on your Steri-Strips a few days out from surgery is usually of no great concern. It is normal for incisions to use a slight amount of blood which can gather on the dressing and form a thin layer of scab either mixed with surgical glue or surgical tape. Thank you for your question and for including photos.It is normal to see some oozing on the steri strips after surgery.  It may increase over the first week with your increased activity.  If you notice any redness or pain around the incisions or a sudden increase in oozing or staining of your dressings or bra, notify your surgeon.Best of luck.Dr. T

A small amount of oozing is normal following any surgery. If you have continued bleeding or significant swelling you should seek immediate attention. Discuss your concerns with your surgeon.
