Will my retainer still fit after crown?

Question

1) I wear my retainer at night (Invisalign). I just had a root canal and am going to get a crown next week. Will my retainer still fit? 2) is the filling done during root canal and week before the crown permanent or temporary? Dentist said piece of file broke off and is in the filling. Should I be concerned? Thank you,

If your dentist is using a digital scan impression system like many also use with Invisalign and your current tooth has normal tooth morphology, digitally copying the tooth is rather simple and I perform this routinely using a CEREC system and immediately fabricating your crown or at least sending the "copy" file to the dental lab to do the work and wear a temporary crown for @5 days.If you simple have a crown made, there are variances in shape that could cause your Invisalign retainers to not seat properly and the retainers could have to be remade.  Some lab techs are good at using templates and models to try to copy crowns by hand but can be a major headache for the dentist....that's why I moved to making my own crowns digitally.There's always options and I am sure your dentist will go over them prior to treating and let you know the advantages etc of each.
