Can long-term user of IPL hair removal cause cancer with my family history?

Hello, I have a history of cancer in my family both sides like (ovary, breasts, lungs, stomach, liver) my dad had a bazocelular carcinoma) even I have SOP and thyroid and I want to buy a IPL hair removal device. I want to know based on my family history if is a risk to develop skin cancer using IPL. It is 100% sure? My skin is white and I have many moles.

Laser therapist and doctors say that IPL can not cause cancer in a long-tern due to the fact that IPL has not got an ionizing radiation (gamma rays, x-rays). Ionizing radiation goes through the tissues and cells which can damage DNA. IPL treatment has not contain ionizing radiation. All of the energy from the laser goes only on the top layers on the skin, which composing only a few millimeters. Rays from IPL do not touch the DNA and has not impact on genetic information in the nucleus. We would always recommended to have consultation with your medical practitioner and laser therapist before you decide to do the treatment.Kind regards.
