I started taking multivitamins and my surgery is in one week - will this be a problem?

Vitamin K used to be given to patients before surgery to reduce bleeding, however deficiency of vitamin K is rare and this is not necessary. Very large amounts of vitamin E may cause bleeding so large amounts of vitamin E prior to surgery are discouraged. The amount of vitamin E in a multivitamin however is small and should be insignificant. You are also stopping the vitamin a full week before the surgery which will give it plenty of time to be out of the system.
