2 weeks post op, did my septoplasty fail?

Question

It’s two weeks op now and I’ve noticed since getting the splints removed that my septum is still deviated completely blocking my right nostril as it was before. Worried i wasted my time and pretty fustrated about it. It can’t be swelling because I can feel the curve and clearly can see it. I don’t have easy contact with my surgeon as it was done publicly, so have come here for any assistance. Thanks

Hello, thank you for your question and provided information, ı see your concerns. Based on your provided information with 2 weeks post op you are in your healing process and you have swelling that can make your septum seem deviated. You have at least one year long to totaly heal, during that process you need to follow up given instructions and your Doctor.Regards,

I am afraid that without examining your nose it is not possible to answer your question.  It is not unusual to still feel some blockage two weeks after septoplasty.  You may be pleasantly surprised that at 6 weeks your airways will have opened up enough for you to feel surgery was worthwhile.  Do not judge anything until at least that time.
