Is recovery from telogen effluvium gradual?

I started losing hair almost 8 months ago. It started very suddenly and I was losing over 200 hairs just showering. I couldn't touch my hair without losing some. Two dermatologist said it was telogen effluvium. At about 7 months I noticed I was having better days and hardly losing any, but other days were worse. Now at 8 months my good days are even better , but there are still days I lose more. Does that sound like telogen effluvium recovery, is it gradual like that?

Yes, you can use finasteride, but it may have side effects. I suggest a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist with experience in hair restoration and maintenance. Some great options for hair restoration and maintenance are prp injections which can stimulate hair growth. Hope this helps.

Yes, bloating has been reported, although it is quite rare. I recommend consultation with an experienced hair surgeon to help figure out options. As the swelling could be an allergic reaction, I recommend that you immediately stop taking the medication.
