The intravenous access can be placed in the foot or hand.  I usually individualize this placement depending on patients' specific anatomy and preferences. Best wishes.

When I do brachioplasty, I put the IV in the foot.  Sometimes that is hard to do in the preop area, so the anesthesia team will switch IV sites once the patient is asleep.

Foot or Hand.  If the hand is prepped and covered the I.V. can be placed there.  Most anesthesiologists prefer the hand over the foot.
