Thank you for your question. It is hard to express a valid medical opinion from that photo. I would suggest to be consulted by board plastic surgeon, specialized in Body Contour, who knows individualize each patient to give you the better advice.Respectfully,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Ideal candidates are at a stable weight, in good health , and have excess fat in some parts of the body and too little in other regions. Gaining weight before the procedure is to no advantage and when you lose weight again the fat cells will shrink just like the donor site fat cells. Typically, the transferred fat results in a significant increase in volume of the body site being treated.
The question of the perfect weight as it relates to BBL is fast becoming one of the most commonly posted questions in the RealSelf community. While it is true BBL is a weight sensitive procedure (in the sense that you need fat to achieve your result), it is never a good idea to pursue short term changes for surgery. While there is no absolute number (lbs.) in terms of weight for undergoing liposuction with autologous fat transfer, the optimal candidate has reached a healthy and stable weight (preferably with a BMI less than 30, which is associated with a lower incidence of complications).Potential candidates should also have adequate fat reserves for transfer. This becomes especially important when one considers the anticipated rate of fat resorption and graft loss. I typically recommened patients aim for at least 500 cc transferred per cheek. This would amount to 1 liter of fat (not lipoaspirate) after processing. Candidates with inadequate fat reserves are likely to be disappointed with their ultimate volume once healing is complete. If you have reached a healthy stable weight (preferably with a BMI less than 30), the focus should be on maintaining. I typically do not recommend gaining/losing weight for the sake of surgery alone (weight loss for the sake of your health is a different story). It is important to remember that weight changes post procedure can potentially compromise the results of your buttock augmentation (as transferred fat can change with weight just as it could prior). If you plan on losing weight, I would do so before surgery and plan on maintaining afterwards. Weight gain should be discouraged unless you plan to maintain post operatively (or else the fat gained and transferred is typically the first to go post op).As always, discuss your concerns with a board certified plastic surgeon (ABPS).
You do not need to gain weight for the procedure, but you do need to select someone who can liposuction thinner patients while leaving them smooth.
Thank you for your question. With Brazilian butt lift we transfer fat from one area of the body to the other. These fat cells are transferred in microinjections throughout multiple planes in the buttock tissue so that they can gain new blood supply and live in their new home, providing increased volume and shape to the buttocks. If you put on weight before surgery, there is more to transfer. But I do not generally recommend this because we augment the buttock during surgery for optimal shape, and if you then lose the weight post operatively you will loose it disproportionately from your augmented buttock and the results could suffer. We recommend patients to keep their normal weight and body form prior to surgery, and then we are working from a stable situation to create the changes we are working for. That said, you definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety. Best is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.
Hello dear!!Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Based on your photo you are a good candidate for a liposuction with BBL and I think you'll get very good results.Liposuction allows your plastic surgeon to transform your entire shape. You improve your abdomen, waist, back and of course your buttock to give you a beautiful heart shape.I recommend you to make an appointment with a board plastic surgeon for a good evaluation and to talk about your goals.Good luck :)
Hi, thanks for sharing your concern and photos with us! Looking at your photos I might say that you´ll be a great candidate to get an entire abdomen, back and waist liposuction with BBL, this is because you have located fat that can be done with lipo. Before all this, of course, you need to get a complete medical evaluation and laboratory exams to check everything is fine. Also please try to find a board certified plastic surgeon, remember that your safety, always, is going to be first. Have a great day! Dr. JPG
It is hard to tell the amount of fat you have. The waistline and lower abdomen area are normally used. Would need an examination to help more.
Hello.Thank you for your question,.Based on your pictures you may be a good candidate for liposuction with fat transfer to buttocks, it seems you have fat on your back , flanks and stomach. Aggressive liposuction may be needed to obtain the results you are looking. I would recommend you a consultation with a certified plastic surgeon to discuss the best options for you. Regards.Dr. Kemil Issa, Certified Plastic Surgeon

Thank you for your great question. In the weeks following your BBL, you must avoid putting the full weight of your body on the treated area as this will negatively affect your results. The BBL cushion allows you to sit on the back of your thighs, keeping your weight off of your freshly s...
