Going to a trade show 2 weeks after BA Purse or Backpack?

Question

Hi There, I am getting my BA February 1st and then going to a trade show in Vegas Feb 14th. My doctor told me that travel would be no problem and the timing is just fine. The only thing is that I will receive several catalogs during the show. Would you suggest a shoulder bag or a backpack for carrying this weight? Pre OP: 160lbs 5'4" 36A/B Planned: 300-330cc 36C Thanks!

Hello,You may want to opt for a rolling suitcase/bag. I advise my patients not to lift more than 10 pounds until about 6 weeks post op. How you use your arms to push/lift/pull will be a concern. I recommend that you talk this over with your Plastic Surgeon in order to come up with safe ways to go about your activities.All the best

Hi, I think you would be more comfortable avoiding any bag or backpack with a strap that rubs across your breasts.  I'd suggest showing them to your PS or at least picking the one that is less likely to rub the chest area.

Hi Zpolk, I ask my patients to not carry anything 15lbs or more for 5 weeks post surgery. If you have a small purse, I would prefer that to that a back pack which can pull on your muscles. This could potentially disrupt the position of the implants and make you asymmetric or worse, split your incision Hope this helps,Best, Dr. Christine Rodgers

Thanks for your question. I hope your surgery went well. The backpack will probably allow you to distribute the weight you are carrying more easily. Hopefully you can drop things off at your room during the day so it doesn't get too heavy. Best of Luck!
