4 days ago, I had Botox administered. It was put into my forehead, between my brows, bridge of my nose and forehead. I went back and was told it was an allergic reaction. Was told to take Benadryl and was given adrenaline shots to help with the swelling. No change. Last night I went to the hospital and was told she used too much Botox and my body is waiting to absorb it.What can I do to help this?
Answer: Botox and side effects
From the photo's you've provided, you look like you are having a reaction to something, whether it's the actual Botox injected or something else is unknown. Botox does wear off, and depending on the amount injected and placement, this will determine the approximate longevity of the product.

Answer: Botox allergies
In over 15 years of using Botox, I have never seen this reaction with Botox. Was any topical numbing cream used prior to your injections? It almost looks like a contact allergy. Are we absolutely sure that this was FDA approved Botox Cosmetic and not one of the cheaper substitutes which could more likely have impurities that would cause such a reaction? Be sure to get the Botox lot number and information regarding who made the dilution of that particular bottle and what was used to dilute the bottle and be sure this is reported to Allergan promptly. A short course of steroids by mouth would certainly get the swelling down faster than letting this resolve on its own. A full face allergic reaction is called angioedema and can be dangerous if the same product or series of events would cause it to happen again, so be sure to gather as much information regarding that particular visit so that this history can be shared with the person who might be providing your next injections.

Answer: Botox 4 Days Ago, Allergic Reaction?
Sorry for your experience. And thanks for the posted photos. True allergy to BOTOX is rare event. I must consider the normal saline used to reconstitute the freeze dried BOTOX was contaminated as a starting place. But anyway you need or needed better treatment in my opinion. I recommend a Medrol dose pack (steroids for edema) with PO antibiotic course for 1 week. In your posted photos in a time frame sequence you do appear as you are improving. What did your injecting doctor say & do? Was your injecting doctor very experienced with BOTOX use? Please obtain the records and serial # for the BOTOX used and call ALLERGAN the parent company to file a reaction report.

Answer: Botox allergy
First, call your injector and get the lot number, and report your effects to Allergan at (800) 433-8871 - they will want to know the lot number, date, and number of units used - make sure you have these. This is important. I have injected Botox for 25 years, and I've not seen this. Did you happen to have a topical numbing cream applied before the Botox - you could have an allergic reaction to something in that. I've never heard someone say "you have too much Botox and your body is waiting to absorb it". That makes no sense.
