Single front tooth replaced with veneer and doesn’t match other veneers - Advise? (photo)

Six veneers 13 years old which I love, had to replace a single right front tooth that cracked and now the shape/color don’t match, a bit whiter/shiner, more square, seeking advice

Hi there,I would suggest to go back to your dentist and express your concerns about color and shape of tooth.Since the other veneers are 13 years old you may consider whitening them to remove any staining accumulated over time. (veneers will not get lighter then initial shade)If the dentist listens to your concerns and replaces veneer, request to see veneer before it is permanently cemented in to make sure your happy with color and shape.Good Luck!

Matching a single veneer or crown to the surrounding teeth can be very tricky. To properly do  this, your dentist can send you to the lab that he uses for custom shading. Another solution is for your dentist to take color corrected and polarized photos with shade tabs for custom shading when the crown or veneer is redone.

Matching porcelain shades can be tricky but don't settle.  I would discuss with the dentist and if you can't get a good match I would try an office that has an on-site dental lab.  In our office, we have a ceramist that matches shade in the operatory to ensure results.
