25, nose droops when smiling - Will a rhinoplasty be successful or is it possible to make it worse? (Photos)

Question

I’m 25 with thick skin on my nose, I’ve always been unhappy with it and have previously had nose filler twice which I regret now knowing that it can shift/remain for many years and also cause scar tissue to develop. I have a slight deviated septum but my main issue is my nose when I smile, the tip has no support so droops significantly. I don’t ideally want to change it too much as I do feel it fits my face I just want the tip to be slightly elevated and remain in that position when I smile rather than protrude downwards and made slightly less bulbous

You are a candidate for a rhinoplasty and septoplasty.  This will correct the deviated septum and refine the tip to make it less bulbous.

Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey-haired plastic surgeon's sport. You should be able to have a beautiful result and would enhance your face dramatically. Best wishes to you.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photographs, you are a great candidate for rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery would include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement, nasal tip deprojection, tip elevation, among other maneuvers. Make sure you are going to a surgeon with hundreds of long-term before and after pictures on their website with standardized lighting and standardized backgrounds. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.
