Answer: Nasal and Facial Asymmetry Hello,Although it is true your nose is not done healing, I'm certain that it will still deviate to one side once it does. Keep in mind that like everyone else, your face has asymmetries too, and these need to be identified for you to see. In certain individuals, it is difficult to determine what, if anything, is 'midline'. Having said that, I think your nose can be made straighter, and other aspects can be improved. If your surgeon isn't an ABPS certified/ASAPS member surgeon (or AAFPRS equivalent) who specializes in revision rhinoplasty, then you should get a second opinion from a few who are. Best of luck!

Answer: Septorhinoplasty I am very sorry to see that you did not get the results you were hoping for. With any rhinoplasty, there will be swelling - it can take up to a year for the swelling to completely go away. With that being said, the nose may even out on its own, sometimes the skin can pull the nose back into line. If the nose does not straighten out on its own, you can also do some minor in-office procedures to help the crookedness. Consult with your original surgeon and ask what can be done to fix the deviation. I have attached a link below to a previous patient of mine who had a similar case to yours. Best of luck, Dr. Wayne

Answer: Nose still crooked? Rhinoplasty Results You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. I hope this helps.

Answer: Rhinoplasty recovery You are still early in your recovery period and the nose is expected to be quite swollen at this point. The majority of the swelling will resolve in 3-6 months, and will continue to resolve as your nose heals for up to 1-2 years. You have not reached your final shape as the nose will continue to heal and reduce in size for up to a year. Once it does reach its final shape you may be more pleased with the appearance of your nose.

Answer: 5-months post-op Rhinoplasty You have to give yourself some more healing time. Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure but give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results. Sincerely, Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
