In the right kind of face (thin) and with the proper jawline implant dimensions, the sub cheek area can become more hollow in appearance. This would also be aided by the placement of high cheek-arch implants which together with the jawline implant would ensure that effect. Your thinner face is a good candidate but needs skeletal definition along the cheek-aran and jawline to create a concavity between them.
You have great loooking bone structure to your jaw and cheeks. If desired, you could enhance the appearance of your jawline and cheeks with facial fillers or fat graft transfer or implants. If you are not in any rush I recommend first trying temporary fillers such as juvederm or restalyne. If you like the enhancement, then seek out more permanent option such as fat transfer or implants. One way to determine the kind of jaw enhancement (along the sides aka mandibular angle) achievable by fillers is to clench down on your teeth. If you like the change that you see then go with fillers. If you want more definition, you will likely need an implant. You did not provide a side view so it is difficult to determine if chin enhancement is also needed. I hope this helps. I wish you the best, Dr. Ardeshirpour
Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures using dermal fillers, silastic facial implants (cheek, chin), liposuction and/or facelifts for over 30 years. Following my beauty principles, men look chiseled and handsome with angularity in the cheeks, chin and mandibular angles. From the photos, your cheeks are a bit flat anteriorly (in the front), and the mandibular angles are weak. The following procedures would create a more ruggedly handsome face.Cheek augmentation with dermal fillers or with silastic cheek implants to add angularity to the cheeks and mid face. Augmentation of the mandibular angles using a dermal filler (jaw implants have too many unwanted side effects IMHO) to add volume, angularity and flare to the jaw line.Hope this helps.
Dear Valleysquare, With the one limited photograph and without a profile picture it is hard to completely discuss what would be your best course of action to provide the look you desire. With that said, it appears from your frontal photograph that your jawline is defined and that some augmentation in the cheek area may help you with more definition. See the link below and video for before and afters. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.
Your jaw angles are located in a favorable position. Your cheeks could be augmented to give the model look. Of course, only one picture is provided and a full in-office exam would be needed. Computer imaging may help to decide. Also, any implant can be preceded with fillers so you can try it out before the surgery. Best wishes.
yes, the proper placement of jawline material would establish a 'flat plane' between the cheekbone arch and the jawline angle zone. This accentuates the bone angularity and soft tissue planes 'soften'.
In my own practice I don't recall removing a chin implant for aesthetic reasons. Video imaging is very useful in establishing the aesthetic goals of the procedure. It is possible for implants to get infected which is unusual but might demand subsequent removal.
Hi, I have performed many facial shaping procedures, including Chin Augmentation with dermal fillers or silastic chin implants, for over 30 years. From the photos, your chin sone't appear to be weak (see the attached video). However, the mental crease is indeed deep. A dermal filler can sof...
Your symptoms are all common after this surgery. They should resolve over the next few months as the swelling gets better and the muscles of the chin heal. I wouldn't worry at this point. Make sure you visit your surgeon regularly. Good luck!
