If I have a tongue biopsy, what do you suggest for the least invasive way to avoid getting a keloid from the biopsy? (Photo)

I noticed a odd bump on my tounge - my dentist says we should biopsy it- I am a keloider (have major ones on my chest and back and had radiation for those to stop them growing) and I also wear a bite splint at night and maybe thought this was a keloid? Is laser excision best for potential keloid or is oral surgeon with stitches? I have also reacted to dissolvable stitches when I once tried to have my chest keloids removed.

Thank you for sharing your question and photograph.  Keloids do not tend to form on the tongue due to the nature of the tissue.  I would not worry for one after a biopsy. Hope this helps.

Keloids do not form on the tongue, so no need to worry.  Secondly, I would advise that you see an Otolaryngologist-Head and Neck Surgeon for an evaluation.  Good luck.

It would be extremely unusual to get a keloid on the tongue. Any incisional biopsy with absorbable sutures should heal fine. All The Best !
