I had crown prep done a few days ago but have a constant tooth ache since. I need to take iboprofen which relieves the pain for approx 8 hours but then it returns even waking me up at night The tooth had no pain before provisional Crown placement.

You can either get new crowns or removable orthodontics to close the gap. If you are missing any of your back teeth, your teeth are constantly shifting and I would suggest orthodontics with retainers. The treatment in this case is based on the cause of the gap.
