I am having it to correct hyperpigmentation. She is going to do full face and also spot treatment. Will I need more than one treatment? Thanks.
Answer: PicoSure and PicoGenesis Thank you for your question. PicoSure and PicoGenesis differ by maker. Both have 532 and 1064 wavelegnths. Our practice recently switched from PicoSure to PicoGenesis, and the results have been tremendous. With skin rejuvenation we suggest a series of 3 and one month intervals and with spot treatment up to 3 treatments. Their is no magic number, but we have seen significant change in doing it this way.

Answer: PicoSure vs PicoGenesis Hello! Thanks for posting -- this is a great question. While PicoSure and PICO Genesis do use similar technology, they are not identical treatments. They are created by different cosmetics companies and therefore the tools and some of the functionality is different. One of the main differences is that the PicoSure technology was among the first picosecond lasers developed, and initially these lasers were intended for tattoo removal. PICO Genesis was developed later but with natural skin pigmentation in mind, which makes it an ideal treatment for hyperpigmenation, melasma, redness or sun damage. Both treatments boast short sessions, minimal discomfort and little to no recovery time. The number of treatments you might need will vary depending on your specific concerns. WIth PICO Genesis, sessions are spaced two weeks apart; many clients see results after just one treatment, and five treatments is generally recommended as the maximum. With PicoSure, most clients need two to five treatments spaced two to six weeks apart. Both treatments can be customized to meet your needs; you will need to talk to your board-certified plastic surgeon to determine the right treatment and number of treatments for you. Good luck!

Answer: Mincing words- yes they are! In reality they both are laser treatments with marketing names - Picosure was the first laser followed buy others. Realistically both offer the same result, the rate limiting factor is the specialist behind the laser. Technology is great, but experience with the laser is more important. All the best, Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane, Australia.
