Burn from 100% TCA. Will this cause permanent damage ? (photo)

Question

Came to get a test spot for cross Tca and Dr spilled to much from the syringe on surrounding area. This is 2 days after and they are now putting silver gel + Tefla with paper tape until its “healed” . Will this cause permanent damage ? Will I run the risk of hyper-hypo pigmentation with scaring ?

I don't recommend doing peels yourself, due to the risk of complications. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist for after care and treatment. These spots can be improved with a combination of lasers, Aerolase, microneedling/prp, skin lightening, peels, and skin care. Sun protection is essential. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an acne scarring expert. Best, Dr. Emer

TCA 100% in a syringe is a very advanced treatment. I do deliver TCA 80-90% via a syringe, but even then in my other hand is a cotton tip- in case of spillage. 100%- I usually use a toothpick - exceptions apply. Hard to say with your skin type if scarring will occur. As for your wound care, I will leave it up to your dermatologist or plastics. Low level laser, PDL, steroid, silicone etc.. can be used when your skin heals in 12-14 days. Scars can ALWAYS be improved. Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane. Australia.
