Your question is a question that I wish all patients would ask their dentist before getting veneers.  The answer depends on which doctor you pick.  Some doctors are very experienced in placing veneers and some have little or no experience placing veneers.  For the more experienced cosmetic dentists, you should expect your veneers to last 20 years or more (before needing to have them redone).  For the least experienced cosmetic dentists, this time could vary greatly from a few months to 10 or 20 years, if done properly.  I've placed so many veneers, that I actually place a 10 year warranty on ever veneer I do, but you will typically not see a whole lot of doctors that offer this.  Be sure to check out the before and after pics of the doctor you choose and ask about any warranty on the veneers.  Good luck and I hope this helps. Zainabooz,Veneers usually last 10 to 15 years if well taken care of and are of high quality. They are great for fixing chips, deep stains / discoloration, and other aesthetic defects of the teeth. After having them placed, particularly with the temporaries, there may be some sensitivity that goes away after a few days and your dentist can recommend a pain management medication that's right for you. At the end of the day, odds of complications are very low and a good dentist should be able to apply them painlessly with the use of localized anesthetic. Pain and sensitivity following any dental veneer procedure is generally rare, and are a great option for fixing minor to moderate aesthetic defects.
