Hi puffcoco. Hydroquinone suppresses pigment formation by cells in your skin-it is unlikely to remove the ink that is placed within a tattoo. It is common for the tattoo to appear darker immediately after placement and then fade, sometimes a touchup is required. Speak with your permanent makeup provider to see if they can revise the tattoo to provide the color or shape that you are seeking. Hang in there!
The best option if you are unhappy with your permanent makeup and want it removed would be to find a laser specialist with the appropriate laser indicated for tattoo removal. This is a long process and can be expensive. Hydroquinone will not fade away the permanent makeup because the pigment is placed in the dermal level of the skin. If pigment was used it will fade overtime.
Hydroquinone will not lighten the ink of an eyebrow tattoo. However, removing the tattoo with the Picosure laser is an option. Depending on the ink used to pigment the brow a test pulse of the Picosure will tell the physician if it is safe to remove your tattoo. Removing or even lightening the tattoo would allow a skilled permanent make-up technician to correct a previous undesirable result. All the best, Dr Carr
