I had my BA 400 cc silicone under the muscle 1 1/2 months ago and my left incision is hurting. Is this normal? (photo)

Question

I just came back from traveling to Colorado where it was snowing and was really cold. Could that be why my incision started hurting? I also feel that my incicions are bumpy. Is that normal at 1 1/2 months?

Thank you very much for this question. First of all let me congratulate you for this nice result. Scars need about 1 to 1 1/2 years to fully mature, within this time they are sensitive to temperature change and can from time to time hurt.  To be sure you can check your plastic surgeon to rule out any problems with your scar like keloid or hypertrophic scars. Hello, and thanks for your question. Scars can take up to a year to fully heal. Right now you are probably starting to absorb your dissolving sutures and sometimes this can look inflamed and feel hard during the process. I recommend to my patients to use a good scarring cream along with some gentle massage a few times a day to break up and scar tissue and swelling. Make sure you follow up with your surgeon, being that all Physicians have different preferences. Hope this helps.

Best to see your operate surgeon ASAP! I might recommend a Rx of antibiotics as a preventive measure. Photos though ok appear as maybe cellulitis starting....???
