I had asymmetrical breasts so I had a breast reduction on just the bigger side. The nipple of the breast that was worked on is a lot higher. I read another post of someone who had a nipple placement that was too high after a breast reduction and the comments from surgeons said it usually stays that way. My surgeon told me breasts drop after breast reduction but does that not apply to the nipple? I’m two weeks out of surgery but now I’m worried I made a mistake. I just want to look normal :(
Answer: Nipple position You are very early in the recovery process and can expect changes ahead. Resolution of swelling and settling will occur of the breast, including the nipple. Continue to follow the advice of your surgeon. Any concerns can be discussed along the way.

Answer: Patience Thanks for your question! I would imagine that things will drop a bit. I know it’s hard to be patient but with surgery, it is so important. Give you breast (and surgeon) some time to see how things settle and change. I can also see that you still have your bandages on which are lifting and distorting things as well. Good luck!

Answer: Will my nipple placement change after breast reduction? (photo) Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. You do need to allow your results time to mature but I too would be concerned that the operated side will result in a nipple that is higher than the non-operated side.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear bellaluna123, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals. Answer: Will my nipple placement change after breast reduction? Nipple placement can change after a breast reduction surgery, but it largely depends on the specific surgical technique used, the skill of the surgeon, and individual factors. Typically, during a breast reduction, the surgeon will reposition the nipples to a more aesthetically pleasing and natural location on the smaller breast. It's essential to discuss your goals and concerns with your surgeon before the procedure to ensure you have a clear understanding of the expected outcomes and any potential changes in nipple placement.
