Invisalign, implant and midline shift?

Dear flaav001,It is safe to use Invisalign to correct your midline and prepare the space for an implant. Many orthodontist perform that procedure and the results are amazing. I do recommend visiting with a cosmetic dentist who will be placing the implant and crown restoration. Invisalign can gradually create the space that is needed and create a pontic (fake tooth) where the implant will be placed.  Your dentist can fill in the pontic with tooth colored filling material so it will look like there is a tooth where the space is being created.  You have to first make sure that there is sufficient room being created in order for the implant to be place.  If there is not enough space for the implant then doing this will not be helpful.  4mm is not enough room to place an implant. You need at least 7mm. Also, there are ways to speed up the process.  Propel and acceledent are some options to look into.    

Fortunately there are 2 techniques that could shorten your time with Invisalign or braces, they both will cut the time up to 50%:1. Propel which is somewhat surgical, where they make some openings in the bone between the teeth and it moves teeth faster due to speed up bone remodeling.  You need to have your orthodontist do it or go to periodontist that works with him/her2. AcceleDent - non surgical device that you wear 20 minutes everyday - and  by vibration on the teeth it speeds up bone remodeling.  i personally prefer this option as it's non-invasive. They both add the cost to tx.If you hate the metal, you can find porcelain or plastic brackets that are clear or tooth colored.  Or go with lingual braces that don't show on the front teeth, they are done on the tongue (inner) side of the teeth.  Ligual braces are metal though.  Hope this helps.
